Why Your Property Could Lead You Away From God
Anything that is in God's will has a price attached to it. If you hear that you do not need to work out your own salvation, it is because Jesus paid the price of your salvation with His blood. If Jesus had not died on the cross for your sin and my sin, we would never be eligible to enter into God's presence. A person who has to obey God will always have a price to pay for his obedience to God. Samson had to ensure that his hair was uncut for him to keep God's anointing upon him. When his hair was cut, he lost God's anointing upon him and was incarcerated. If he had paid the price up to the end, he would have been an overcomer. How does a person ensure that he pays the price for his obedience to God? There is no set formula that I can tell you to follow. I was told by God to stop working on a journey of being a prophet. I had been working as a designer when God told me to stop and obey Him. Had I continued in my profession, He would never have blessed me with the gifts that I have today. If you are having a difficult time obeying God, think about the rich man whom Jesus told to go and sell everything he owned, give it to the poor and follow Him! Why did Jesus give the rich man such a difficult condition? It is because he was in possession of cursed property. There is no way he could have entered into God's presence without ridding himself of his cursed possessions, it would have drawn him further away from God. What are cursed possessions? They are things or items that are of the enemy and should not be owned by a person who is of God. I have written an article and explained what constitutes cursed possessions titled: 'Your Property Could be Cursed!'. I will concentrate on what price a person must pay to obey God.
Why You Should Have Faith in God's Will For You
If you have possessions that are of the enemy, you have to cooperate with the Holy Spirit to know if you should destroy, give away or retain them. Some property is not supposed to be kept at all by a person who is of God. Some property may be retained if it was previously owned by a cursed person but has changed hands from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of heaven. If property you own was previously owned by a cursed person, it can change hands from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of heaven if that person willingly relinquished his interests in the property. If he did not relinquish his interests willingly, he could curse such property. If such property is cursed, it attracts cursed spirits to vex whoever is in possession of that property. If property must change hands from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of God, the price will always be paid with blood. For a person who wants to retain such property, he should have knowledge of what its price is. What is the price of that property you want to retain? Is it worth it? If it is not, leave it for other people who are cursed not to have God. The Lord loves you enough to tell you to leave it. It may not only cause you death but may cause you to miss heaven for eternity. The Lord may often require your obedience before He gives you understanding on such a matter. In that case, you may lose the property if you are humble enough to follow His guidance.
Why You Should Endeavor to Follow God's Guidance
If you are in possession of cursed property and desire to retain it, we learnt earlier that it will require blood for it to be transferred from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of heaven. What about the Lord’s blood that He shed on the cross? The Lord shed His blood for the redemption of man and not for property or possessions. If a person wants to own cursed property, that possession will have to be purchased through human blood. The circumstances upon which such property changes kingdoms is not decided by human beings. The enemy is aware of the curses that are upon such a possession and the particular consequences of the curses that are upon that it.
