What is a Birthright?

Updated: Jul 2, 2019

How is a Birthright Received?

A birthright is an inheritance that a person cannot receive without being in contact with a person who has the anointing of God upon him. If a birthright is from God, it has to be transferred by the laying of hands or speaking to the person who is receiving the birthright. If a birthright is from the enemy, it can also be transferred by speaking to the person to whom it is being transferred to or engaging him in a ritual of blood. There are some types of rituals that are always practiced at funerals or last funeral rites for a birthright to be transferred from a person who has passed on to a person who is living. If you have participated in any such rituals, you have been initiated into a curse of necromancy.

Why a Birthright From God is Transferable by the Laying of Hands and Words

When Isaac lay his hands on Jacob, he transferred the birthright to him. He did not only lay his hands on him but also spoke. Likewise, Jacob lay his hands on Ephraim and Manasseh and spoke to them. He, however, lay his right hand on Ephraim rather than on Manasseh the older of the two because, despite the fact that they were both blessed by God, Ephraim was the Lord's choice for the birthright. Likewise, Zadok the priest anointed Solomon for kingship over Israel and spoke. He was told to do so by David. If David was not a king, he would have laid his hands on Solomon himself and spoken to transfer the birthright.

Jacob shared his inheritance with Joseph's sons Ephraim and Manasseh. He transferred the mantle of wealth to the younger of the two sons

David had already been told by the Lord who the next king after him was. He transferred the birthright through Nathan the prophet because he was his appointed authority. A birthright from God can be transferred on behalf of another person if he is an authority in the kingdom of God. It cannot be transferable by a person who is not living in God's will.

What is Packaged in a Birthright?

Nathan anointed Solomon as the king of Israel and transferred the birthright that David had to him

A birthright has a lot of gifts packaged in it. One of the gifts that came with the birthright that David had was the gift of writing. David wrote the Psalms; however, Solomon wrote even more than the Proverbs that make up scripture because the Lord grew his birthright. He wrote about 1000 proverbs that are not included in the scriptures and he was given wisdom that no other man on earth had or will ever have! He was a blessed man as a result of his birthright. Do you have a birthright from God? If you are a son of God, you have a birthright that is from Jesus! Who is a son of God? This is a person who has abided in obedience to the Lord. The birthright which is designed for a son of God is a package of gifts that include privileges like: oppressing the enemy, being protected by the Lord, staying in the Lord’s presence and being in the Lord’s service. There are other birthrights that can come with your obedience to the Lord. The birthright of being a wealthy person is a birthright that is from God. What is the difference between a birthright that is from God and the one that is from the Lord? A birthright that is from God does not require a person’s repentance for him to receive it. This birthright comes without repentance whereas the birthright that is from the Lord requires repentance for you to receive it. Another difference is that the birthright from God often causes jealousy! If your birthright has caused people to become jealous of you, that birthright is from God. When Jacob received his birthright from God, he became an enemy of his brother to the extent that he had to flee for his life! On the other hand, a birthright that is from the Lord does not require a person to flee. If a person is in a situation where he has to flee, usually he has received a birthright that is from God.
